She earned a MS in Civil Engineering-Water Resources Management and Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University, Iran, in 2020, and a BS in Civil Engineering-Water and Wastewater Networks from College of Environment, Iran, in 2017.

Marina holds M.S. degrees in Marine Biology and Marine Policy from the University of Maine and a B.S degree in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic. Marina works as a Research Coordinator and Acting Assistant Regional Administrator for the USGS South Central Climate Adaptation Science Center.
